Sound Supervisor, Composer
Hamed's passion for music started like it does for many: on the piano bench. He fell in love with writing classical music but it provided limited career choices... unless you combine it with a story! He decided to head to City of Angels to pursue scoring. While studying at CSULA, he got his first gig scoring a graduate thesis from Chapman film school. He has since scored projects ranging from commercials for Quicken Loans and Foot Locker, to arcade game for 49ers LEVI'S Stadium, to the racially-charged drama Boiling Pot (Danielle Fishel, Louis Gossett Jr., and Keith David). Driven by his entrepreneurial spirit and an innate desire for perfectionism, he started MelodyGun to have greater quality control over the entire sound process from pre-production to deliverables. He has supervised projects ranging from location sound recording to producing songs to post-sound editorial and mix. He's currently supervising Future World (James Franco, Milla Jovovich, Suki Waterhouse, Lucy Liu, Snoop Dogg, Method Man) and CAMP (Joey King, Annalise Basso, Nolan Gould)
Supervising Sound Editor, Lead Sound Designer
Thomas' passion for sound grew in the midst of picture editing at Chapman film school (class of '11). He fell in love with the way delicate changes in room tone and surreal sound design enhance the way films guide the audience. Energized after his nomination for Best Sound Designer at Chapman, he moved through a slew of post internships, including DaneTracks where he shadowed veteran sound designers like Dane Davis (all three Matrix films), and Paul Hackner (Hunger Games, Drive, The Revenant). He observed countless sessions at WB Sound on films like Project X, The Raven and The Twilight series. Informed by that experience, he co-founded MelodyGun with Hamed to facilitate the wide range of sound and music needs in filmmaking. With over 50 film credits and recent sound design nomination for the psychological thriller Dry Blood, he makes it a mission to never stop learning. Thomas also explores sound through music in his band Emerald Portal.
Michelle’s entire life has been immersed in music. Raised by audiophiles, she grew up to be an avid vinyl junkie: savoring everything from Coltrane to Zeppelin. An aptitude for classical piano landed her a full scholarship to Jacksonville University where she studied Music and Communications. After graduation, she packed up her turntable (and her boxer, Louis Armstrong) and headed to LA to pursue a career in music. After touring the world with various bands, (including the notorious Fem 2 Fem) she settled down and created mediaHo entertainment, a music marketing and consulting company. She has also held positions at various companies such as Opus 1 Music, Mighty Generation Music, and Songtradr. Michelle joined MelodyGun after meeting Hamed at a music convention, where they quickly realized they were kindred entrepreneurial, creative souls with a passion for life & music. Her impeccable ear has led to the placement of songs in hundreds of TV, commercial, film, and video game projects, including: Comet (Emmy Rossum, Justin Long), Grand Theft Auto, The Crew, Grey’s Anatomy, True Blood, The Gambler, Dexter, Private Practice, Breaking Bad, Californication, Sons of Anarchy, and many, many more. On her down time you can find her enjoying a sunset happy hour over scratch margaritas or walking her boxer, Buddy Guy, on the strand in Hermosa Beach.
Lead Re-recording Mixer, Sound Designer
Sean hails from upstate New York, and has an ear for molding and weaving sounds. With a BFA in Film Production from Chapman film school (class of '07), Sean quickly established himself as a re-recording mixer because it was the last most creative process in sound - and the most fun. To date Sean has mixed more than 100 projects, including VR Experiences for Christopher Nolan's Dunkirk and Assassin's Creed the film, the TV series The Guild, films like Much Ado About Nothing (Nathen Fallion, Ashley Johnson) and Donald Trump's The Art of the Deal: The Movie (Johnny Depp, Ron Howard) and many commercials and digital content. We're not sure if he actually sleeps but we frequently catch him daydreaming that he's Indiana Jones, traveling the world and fighting Nazis side by side with Sean Connery. Maybe he can experience that with VR very soon.
