Born in Shanghai, Dan earned his masters at Chapman Film School like most of our team. Dan has honed his craft over years of work on-set and in post. His favorite project was Jerry which earned him an MPSE nomination! Dan has also received a Golden Horse nomination for his work on The Summer is Gone, Dalei Zhang's stunning exploration of state reform in 1990's Inner Mongolia (that also won best feature film).

Dan began working for MelodyGun as an assistant, but quickly moved to a full-time position on the merits of his obvious talent. His ear has been a crucial part of our work, whether it's de-noising dialog, recording ADR, or editing SFX. You can especially hear his delicate work on our recent project Arctic (Mads Mikkelsen)! When asked what character he would be from any movie, Dan said Luke Skywalker from Star Wars: hopefully he means the heroic part, but a robot hand might make his editing work even quicker? Hmm....
